                          Experience Highlights

Spending 23 years with Exxon and 12 years with Carteret Community College, my experience covers a wide variety of specialties --- marketing, corporate acquisitions, computer systems, counseling, recruiting, employment, affirmation action, compensation, job evaluation, policies, labor relations, union negotiations, personnel systems and training.  I have had specialized training as an organizational facilitator.   I have worked with a variety of people --- from the Teamsters Union to research scientists, from volunteers to corporate executives, with teachers and students, and with county governments.  Among my volunteer experiences, I was a founding member of the League of Women Voters of Carteret County in North Carolina, and served a two-year term as president.  Also I volunteered with Beaufort Historical Association for two years.

            Education:

1977 M.B.A. in Management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

1963 B.A. in English from Woman’s College, Greensboro, NC.

            Personal:

My husband held a Ph.D. in Psychology and focused a lot on children and their needs.  We were married for 51 years before he died in 2013.  Both of us were born and raised in North Carolina. For almost 10 years we lived on a boat.  When we retired in 2005 we sold everything, moved into a RV and spent many years traveling the US.

Grace Ridge Continuing Care Resident Community has been my home for the last 10 years, and I love it.  We have a Resident Association here at Grace Ridge, and I have been very involved with it as President and as a member of multiple committees.
